Mexican by birth, Portlander by choice — in love with both.

Hola! I am Myriam Marcela,   

I  was  born  in Monterrey  Nuevo  Leon,  Mexico.   My fashion career started when I was just 10 years old, after having rendered a dress my mother bought for me completely unrecognizable. My career took a more formal approach studying fashion design in Guadalajara, México. In 2002 life led me to Portland, Oregon where I have remained since.

Myriam Marcela started in 2014 with my Vintage Renewal line. I would transform vintage pieces into something new and customers would find me at trunk shows, pop-up shops, and other events. Later that year, I won best emerging designer in Portland, Oregon. This event catapulted me into the fashion industry. 

Over the last years I have learned, though, that I don’t need to follow a fashion or seasonal calendar. I say now, with pride and confidence, that I make my own rules. I don’t believe the clothing I create should be on sale because it is "past season". My pieces are timeless. Fashion shouldn’t be temporary. I don’t believe in trends either or mass production. We all have our own style and we should invest in pieces which accentuate us and our unique personality.  

If you  look  up  the  definition of  couture,  you will  find  the  design  and  manufacture of  fashionable  clothes  to  a  client’s  specific requirements and measurements.  This  is  exactly what I  do.  When  I  create, my  heart and  soul  is  poured  into  each  piece,  inside  and  out,  something my  customers  know  to  expect from  my  label.
